Q. How do you calculate the price?

For a monthly subscription, we charge per active user per month. Only active, non-bot users are counted. The price is calculated and invoiced for the upcoming month accordingly.

For a yearly subscription, we charge per active user per year. The number of active users is determined at the time of purchase. If your team grows during the year, there will be no additional charges for extra users. The price will be recalculated at the time of renewal.

Q. Do you offer a free trial?

Yes, we offer a trial, and it is automatically activated upon installation. You can access the full set of features during the trial period without needing to provide payment information. After the trial ends, if you wish to continue using the service, you can purchase a subscription, and Stripe will process the payment for us.

Q. How do I make a payment?

We recommend using in-app payment, as the web app payment option is deprecated. You can view the subscription fee based on your team size or the number of seats you require. The subscription can be processed directly within the app, and Stripe will handle the payment for us.

Please go to the app home and click on 'Billing & Subscription.' The subscription options will appear, allowing you to select the one you want. Once you're ready, click 'Subscribe,' and you will be redirected to the Stripe checkout page.

Q. Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we do. With a yearly subscription, you'll get 2 months free. For non-profit organizations, please contact us. We typically offer premium subscriptions at no charge to small non-profits.

Q. Why can't I manage my subscription?

You can manage your subscription if your Slack or Teams email matches the information in Stripe. If it doesn't match, you won't be able to manage it yourself for security reasons. In that case, please contact us, and we'll be happy to assist you.

Q. Can I upgrade from the Premium plan to the Ultimate plan?

Absolutely, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Please contact us at support@tailrec.io.

Q. Is the subscription available for purchase in my country?

We partner with Lemon Squeezy to serve customers globally and ensure compliance with local laws and tax regulations. However, there are some countries that Lemon Squeezy does not support. You can find the list here.

Q. Do you offer installation on-premises or in the customer's cloud?

Yes, we offer this for the Enterprise plan. Please contact us at support@tailrec.io.

Q. How long do you retain user data as per your policy?

For our free plan, we retain your data for 90 days from the date of creation. For our premium plan, data is retained as long as the plan remains active. If your premium subscription ends and you discontinue the service, your data will be retained for 1 year from the subscription end date. Should you re-subscribe to the premium plan, the 1-year retention period on prior data will be reset.

Q. What happens when the app is uninstalled?

We have a data deletion policy in place: all your data will be permanently deleted 30 days after app removal. If you reinstall the app within this 30-day period, your data will remain accessible, and the deletion process will be stopped. However, if you reinstall the app after the 30-day period has elapsed, your data will no longer be accessible as it will have been permanently deleted. If you have an active subscription after removing the app, please contact us at support@tailrec.io. We'll be happy to assist you.

Q. Do you encrypt customer data?

Yes, we prioritize the security and privacy of your data. We use end-to-end encryption to protect your information. Data transmitted between Slack and our service is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS 1.2 protocols.

Additionally, we apply strong encryption to data at rest. Your data is secured with a robust encryption key managed by Amazon AWS's Key Management System (KMS). For customers on the premium plan or higher, we extend encryption to all text data you provide, using a hierarchical key model with a key obtained from Amazon KMS.

To enhance security, we regularly rotate all secret keys at specified intervals, reducing potential risks and ensuring the ongoing integrity of our system and protection of your data.

Q. Where are your servers located, and where will our data be stored?

Please note that our servers are located in the United States, and all data submitted through our service will be stored in the U.S. We use Stripe for payment processing and do not handle or store any of your payment information.

Q. Do you support data residency in other countries?

Currently, we host your data exclusively in the United States and do not offer data residency options in other countries. However, if you have specific requirements for data storage in a different location, please let us know, and we can discuss potential options.

Please note that data synchronization across different data centers is not supported, as it would conflict with data residency principles. For more information on data residency for Slack, we recommend referring to Slack's Data Residency article.
